Cherry Blossoms

We got up this morning and decided to head downtown for the Cherry Blossom Festival. After driving all the way downtown instead of taking the Metro, we found a parking garage and then walked along the wharf and over toward the tidal basin to the Jefferson Memorial where the blossoms are prevalent. Just as we are heading into the trees, I hear a voice behind me shouting, "Oh, my goodness, is that you??" I turned and saw a friend that I met in California that I have not seen in 9 years. It was so much fun to chat and catch up on what they were doing.

We walked over to the World War 2 Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial and around to the other side of the Basin to the Roosevelt Memorial, which I had never seen before. The kids complained at first, but were glad we went when all was said and done.

And here are a few other pictures of the day:

We had a good day together as a family!
